What is a finishing food coloring?

Unlike traditional food coloring, these powders are not meant to be used to color your baked goods by mixing them into the mass. Instead, it is recommended that you apply the pearlescent powders to the surface of your baked goods to add color and shine in a subtle way.

How do I use SuPearl Shine® food powders?

• To add an iridescent finish to your macaroons, sugar doughs, chocolates and candies: you can apply it dry directly with your finger or with a brush on your creations to make your sweets sparkle in a subtle way. These pearlescent cake powders are water soluble, so you can even apply a little water on your pastries to make your iridescent food powders even more intense.
• To paint shiny details on your cakes: mix a little pearlescent powder with Rejuvenator Spirit to create ultra fast drying iridescent food paint. The gold and silver powders will give your cakes a more elegant look: perfect for a wedding cake!
• To add anairbrush finish to your cakes: dilute the iridescent cake powder in food alcohol so you can spray it on your baked goods. This will allow you to create beautiful holographic or iridescent effects by making delicate color gradations. The airbrush also allows you to create beautiful and complex designs on your cakes by using stencils.

Water soluble dyes mix easily in water and alcohol, so it is an ideal powder to make food paint on :
