Round dummy cakes to perfect your cake design skills

SOS! You've been asked to make a complex cake for a special occasion and it's a total stress?

No need to panic! With Decora's round polystyrene dummies , you can practice cake decorating without wasting an ounce of flour or time in baking.

Styrofoam bases are also great for making candy set pieces for those who are more candy than cake. 

How to make a candy cake with these polystyrene bases?

1. Take several different sizes of round bases.
2. Cover each base with aluminum foil.
3. Assemble the bases together with toothpicks, from the largest base to the smallest.
4. Prick the candies on the "pièce montée".

If you want to make a dummy cake by decorating it with sugar paste or gumpaste, remember to moisten the Styrofoam bases so that the paste adheres to the Styrofoam bases.

Dummy cakes are great for practicing but also for adding height to real set pieces. It avoids messes.

All you need is your piping bag and rolling pin to practice!
