Color all your chocolates with this red cocoa butter

Too easy to color your chocolates with this "red" colored cocoa butter from Squires Kitchen.

And yes, you were wondering how the master chocolatiers made beautiful red chocolate hearts?

This is thanks to colored cocoa butter! You can paint your chocolates to give them beautiful colors without altering the taste of your dessert.

Combine this red cocoa butter with a pretty "mini geometric hearts" silicone mold and you'll have super design chocolate hearts in vibrant red.

    What is cocoa butter?

Cocoa butter is not chocolate, no no but it is part of its composition, that's why cocoa butter is so good on chocolate! Technically, cocoa butter is a vegetable fat. It is the component that results from the pressure of cocoa beans to produce cocoa powder.

The cocoa powder gives the taste and color to your favorite chocolate while the cocoa butter gives it its soft and creamy texture. It is the cocoa butter that transforms classic chocolate into couverture chocolate: couverture chocolate is richer in cocoa butter which allows it to melt more easily and be easier to work with for your pastries and confectionery.

Simply put, cocoa butter is the texturing agent that gives chocolate the property of being able to melt fluidly and cool into a solid with a melting texture.

How to use colored cocoa butter?

Colored cocoa butter can be used as "paint" on your chocolates (i.e. "on the surface") or as food coloring for chocolates (coloring in the mass).

Use this "red" colored cocoa butter to paint your chocolates:

To give a nice red shell to your homemade chocolates, heat the colored cocoa butter to a low temperature (40°C maximum) then with a brush paint the inside of a chocolate mold before pouring your chocolate. Let your chocolate cool and then remove from the mold to have a nice shiny red chocolate shell.

Use this "red" colored cocoa butter to color your chocolates in the mass:

To please your loved one on Valentine's Day, you can also make homemade red chocolates! Add a few drops of red cocoa butter to white chocolate and mix! Fill the adorable chocolate mold "mon p'tit coeur" with your beautiful red chocolate without forgetting to put a heart of praline feuillantine for even more deliciousness. Now you just have to put your chocolates in a candy bag and offer them to the lucky one !

Directions for use: melt in the microwave at low temperature (do not heat above 40°C. ), checking regularly.
