Stencils can be used on a variety of materials. You can use them directly on sugar paste or American buttercream that has hardened. Stencils can also be used directly on chocolate cake and cookies.
The stencils are made of durable and flexible food grade plastic and can be used over and over again.
How to use a stencil to decorate a Christmas cake?
Royal icing, buttercream, edible paint, airbrush, the possibilities are numerous to decorate a cake with stencils.
To use the royal icing, place your stencil on a flat surface of the cake, then using a spatula, spread a thin layer of icing over the stencil. Then gently remove the stencil by lifting one side, being careful not to damage the design.
You can simply place the stencil on the cake to sift powdered sugar or cocoa powder on top
Also use edible paint and brush over the stencil, revealing the design on your sugarpaste.
For an airbrush application, attach your stencil and airbrush over the top to create the design on your sugarpaste. This method is especially good if you want to create a design on the side of a cake.
