With a ganache/buttercream type icing: first measure the cake and cut out the pan if necessary. Prepare the icing according to the recipe. Fill it into the cavities of the mold with a piping bag. For an even result, it is important that no air bubbles are trapped. Place the filled pan around the coated cake and secure with a ribbon and/or cake ring. Place the cake in the freezer overnight. After the cooling time, remove the attachment. Lightly heat the stencil on the outside (hair dryer or hot towel), gently remove it and thaw the cake in the refrigerator.
With tempered chocolate: use a piping bag to fill the cavities of the pyramid mold with tempered chocolate. Briefly tap the filled mold on the work surface to remove air bubbles. As soon as the chocolate starts to set, place the mold around the cake and secure it with tape. Let the chocolate set for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator. Gently remove the tape and unroll the mold.
If the mold buckles at the beginning of use, unroll it and put some weight on it (books for example). Heat it with a hair dryer for example. The heat and the use of the mold will allow the mold to curl less.
